Miyajima Laboratory

Our laboratory researches the dynamics, energy levels, spin states of electrons, holes and excitons for a variety of materials and structures composed of such materials in the view point of light-matter interaction. Furthermore, we try to generate and control their optical functionalities, e.g., optical nonlinearities, ultrafast response, photo-induced magnetism, and peculiar optical phenomena. For example, we study exciton-exciton interactions and their excited states in a semiconductor quantum dot, generation of superfluorescence from quantum dot assemblies, and photo-induced magnetization of a semimagnetic semiconductor.
