Computational Material Science Laboratory (Takahashi Laboratory) has been studying on the modeling of dislocation dynamics based on the concept of multiscale modeling and the simulation with high accuracy of material strength problems caused by dislocations and defects. The simulation based on the multiscale modeling can clarify the effect of dislocations and defects (micro-scale) on the mechanical properties of materials (macto-scale). Moreover, elucidating of material problems with large spatial and time scales can lead to the material design based on the microscopic defect behavior.
