Regulation of Gene Expression

Catabolite repression in a gram positive bacterium, Pediococcus halophilus

Regulation of gene expression is profoundly related with many facets of life, such as adaptation, development, differentiation and so on. The regulation of energy (or sugar) utilization systems is universally important among whole species. We are studying such a regulatory mechanism (catabolite repression) in a gram positive bacterium, Pediococcus halophilus.
