RESEARCH
OVERVIEW
Cell-based therapy, in which living cells are administered to patients to treat diseases, is attracting a big attention as a new modality in drug discovery. To optimize cellular medicines for disease treatment, Kusamori Laboratory (Kusamori Lab) is developing effective and safe cellular medicines based on cell engineering technology and drug delivery system technology and elucidating cell-related biological phenomena. In addition, we have expanded the scope of our research to mitochondria, which are one of cell organelles, and have begun development of new drug discovery modalities.
Target disease: Cancer, Diabetes, Sepsis, Liver failure, Anemia, etc.
Regeneration of tissues: Lymph node, Blood vessel, Neuron, Pancreatic islets, etc.
