Welcome to the Okiharu Laboratory, Physics Education Research,
Tokyo University of Science

Did you know that physics education is one of the research fields within physics? There exists a research area known as Discipline-Based Education Research (DBER), which focuses on the teaching and learning processes specific to each scientific discipline, such as physics, chemistry, and biology. Physics education research is also built upon the accumulated findings of many researchers. In our laboratory, we investigate learners’ difficulties in understanding physics concepts through multiple representations. We also conduct research on instructional methods and curricula that effectively support the formation of scientific concepts, making use of ICT and other technologies. In addition to physics education, we broadly engage in research on science education. If you are interested in joining our program, please feel free to contact us.
